National Night Out 2020

National Night Out (NNO) as our community is used to it, has been cancelled for 2020. However, as a department, we strongly believe in the message of NNO and look forward to NNO activities all year so we want to still do a few activities to keep the energy alive!

This year for NNO, we will host 2 contests: a Coloring Contest and a Community Chalk Art Contest. You can find the sheets for both of these below.

Johnstown Police Department National Night Out Activities October 6 - October 12

We hope that you will join us this year in our National Night Out inspired week of activities. There has been so much change during 2020 that we wanted to still be able to deliver the essence of one of our favorite annual events.

From Oct. 6 - Oct. 12:

- Participate in our Chalk-Art and Coloring page contest

- Catch our Facebook page for a tour of a police cruiser (Our Facebook feed is below if you do not have an account - you can still see!)

- Learn a little bit more about our K9, Vasco

- Grab a NNO inspired book mark from the library later in the week

Can't print the pages at home? That's ok! We have printed copies at the Police Department and Town Hall available for anyone who would like them.

This year, we ask that you send your pictures to us on Facebook, via email, or to bring them into the station.

Please submit the photo of your coloring sheet and chalk art to OR to us on Facebook @JohnstownPolice (you can submit to the Town of Johnstown as well).

What is National Night Out?

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that is celebrated nationwide. The campaign promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods a safe, better place to live.

National Night Out is designed to: 1. Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness. 2. Generate support for local anti-crime efforts, 3. Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, 4. Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
