The Comfort Suites hotel at 4851 Thompson Parkway in Johnstown’s 2534 development officially opened for business at the end of January 2017. The hotel is owned and operated by Spirit Hospitality, a Fort Collins-based hotel developer and management company.
The hotel is located north of the Scheels sporting goods store in the rapidly developing Johnstown Plaza that will soon be home to exciting retailers and restaurants. Wingate Wyndham Ribbon Cutting
On August 25, 2016, the Wingate by Wyndham hotel in the 2534 development in Johnstown had its Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting ceremony, with Mayor ProTem Gary Lebsack doing the honors. The Johnstown and Loveland Chambers of Commerce participated as well.
The hotel, located at 5360 Ronald Reagan Blvd., is a 75-room, four-story hotel with an indoor pool and spa with a breakfast bar. According to the owner, when the hotel reaches 65% occupancy, they plan to expand to 112 rooms. The ownership group is led by Loveland resident Hamid Eslan. They also own The Steer Restaurant of Loveland, the La Quinta Inn and Suites of Loveland, and the Backbone Gourmet Grub and Brewhouse in Loveland. Gateway Apartments Ribbon Cutting
The Gateway apartment complex at 5100 Ronald Reagan Blvd., developed by California-based builders A.G. Spanos Companies, is officially open for business. Developers met with Johnstown officials and members of the Johnstown-Milliken and Loveland Chambers of Commerce on July 12 to officially cut the ribbon and open the upscale, 254-unit apartment complex.
The resort-like property began leasing to tenants last September and recently received a certificate of occupancy for its final building. Apartments feature granite countertops, stainless-steel appliances, and much more. Amenities include an outdoor heated pool, hot tub, fire pit and fireplace, bocce ball courts, outdoor bar, clubhouse game room, theater room, video gaming room, business center, and dog park. On Wednesday, February 17, 2016, SCHEELS broke ground on their new location in Johnstown’s 2534 development. During the ceremony, Johnstown's former mayor, Mark Romanowski, addressed the crowded tent of excited attendees saying, “Johnstown is open for business!” Allen Schlup of Carson Development and Thad Lienemann, V.P. at Sampson Construction, joined SCHEELS Chairman Steve D. Scheel in spreading excitement of the coming “retail adventure” and praised Johnstown Town staff as the best yet in terms of working with the company to make this opportunity become a reality. SCHEELS in Johnstown will open in September 2017, creating 400 new jobs!
The 250,000-square-foot SCHEELS in Johnstown will feature more than 85 specialty shops ranging from technical running gear and the latest fashion, to spectacular hunting and fishing shops. The sport shoe, hiking boot, and casual footwear selection will be the largest in the region with everything for toddlers to all athletes, from serious hikers to beach goers, and from hunters to the fashion conscious. There will be a World Class golf shop, bike shop, ski shop, canoe and kayak shop, and fishing shop.
