The 2019 Street Overlay Project covers two locations in Town for a 2-inch rotomill and overlay on Jay Avenue from Greeley to 6th Street and 4th Street from Telep to Greeley. Staff also plans a full reconstruction of Hawthorne Ct. from Woodbine to the south end of the cul-de-sac.
Specific streets impacted include:
The reconstruction will remove the entire roadway to include 12 inches of road base and 6 inches of asphalt. Subgrade will be compacted prior to rebuild.
The project began in mid-June and is anticipated to be completed in August.
The Town’s street overlay project has been delayed due to unforeseen problems with existing roadway thickness. As a result, the contractor will over dig the thin spots and patch back to a proper thickness before final paving. Project completion may be delayed 2 to 3 more weeks.
The Town will not compromise the quality of this project, and it is in the Town’s best interest and the interest of the tax payers to build this road properly. The Town apologizes for an inconvenience this may cause. Any questions can be forwarded to the Johnstown Public Works Director, Marco Carani at 970-587-4664 or email@example.com.
